Laser Eye Surgery Consultation

What is Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser eye surgery is a refractive surgery that involves reshaping the surface of the cornea, correcting the way light refracts into your eye so that it falls on the retina, providing clear vision. The recovery time is quick, so it is an increasingly popular option for vision correction, offering freedom from glasses and contacts.

Pre-Surgery Consultation and Post-Surgery Care

At Center For Sight, we offer laser eye surgery consultations, post-surgery care, and take care of all the details in between.

If you have decided you’d like to explore the option of laser vision correction, call and make an appointment with our team. Not only will we thoroughly test your eyes to ensure you are a suitable candidate, we will explain the procedure, the benefits, and the risks to ensure you have a full understanding of the process.

If you get the green light and you choose to move forward with refractive surgery, we will make an appointment for you with one of our trusted ophthalmology partners who will perform the surgery. We will work with them to co-manage your care, ensuring that communication is clear and your experience is as seamless as possible.

We partner with a number of reputable surgeons who offer the following types of laser eye surgery, one of which will be recommended to you, depending on the outcome and results of your consultation.

The first form of laser eye surgery performed, PRK involves using the laser to remove tissue from the corneal surface and reshape it to change how light refracts in your eye and correct your prescription.

The most popular form of laser eye surgery, LASIK involves making a flap in the cornea, reshaping the cornea to its desired correction, and then replacing the flap.

Regardless of the type of laser eye surgery procedure you undergo, 1-2 days after surgery you will return to our office for a post-surgery checkup. We will thoroughly test your eyes to confirm they are healing well and that your recovery is on track.

We will follow you closely for the first postoperative year, counselling you on issues such as dryness and monitoring your progress. From there, we recommend an annual eye exam to monitor the long-term results of your procedure and check the health of your eyes.
